Day 7
Bob had a computer class at 9 AM so I packed and then went up on the deck to read. The sun was starting to peek through the clouds and the boat finally stopped rocking. Bob met me for lunch and then we walked in a 5K "On Deck for the Cure", to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. We walked in memory of Crystal Sholin, our neighbor who recently died from this horrible disease. I counted my blessings every lap, appreciating that our health and the fact that we were able to be cruising and enjoying the spectacular Queen Charlotte Islands of British Columbia on the 8th anniversary of 9/11.
After our walk, we soaked in the hot tub at the back of the ship, taking in fantastic scenery and feeling the warm sun.
As we sat sunbathing, we noticed a small zodiac boat approaching the ship. As it came closer, one of the 4 young guys “mooned” us and yelled, “welcome to Canada” ! The Naturalist on board did tell us to watch for wildlife and marine life. After a seafood dinner, we went to the Farewell Show featuring Steve Moris who sang many hits from the 50’s to the present. It brought back a lot of good memories.
